Great video. One suggestion: it would have been neat if you showed connecting one of the outputs to the preset enable pin, in order to limit the count range 0-3, 0-8 etc. This is useful for clock dividing purposes or when you need a smaller count. (Maybe that would have made your video too long though.) 😀

thanks, what pins would i connect if i am doing a mod29 timer, ie (0-28 sec), which of the pins of the seven segment would be effected, it would be g for the first display, but which ones for the second display

What's a 4029 equivalent? Someone recommended a 74LS161 but the pins are wildly different descriptions

14:08 - 14:09 you connect A-G of 7447 directly to A-G of Segment display. But in other video you connect it through 220 ohm resistors.
Also in other video you have 1k pull down resistors for A-D of 7447. But in this video you don't include it.
I'm confused.
