Prof Tshilidzi Marwala speaks on water treatment lab, global collaborations and UJ events

Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Johannesburg (UJ), updates staff and students with important developments taking place in the University on a weekly basis. Some of the topics that Prof Marwala addresses this week include arts performances (Hamlet and Othello ) of William Shakespeare at the UJ Arts Centre; a Teaching and Learning Symposium to encourage our academics to develop new ways of integrating technological developments into teaching and learning; welcoming esteemed delegates from the University of Cincinnati in the USA; a seminar on ‘South Africa and China at the United Nations Security Council’; the launch of the mobile water treatment laboratory to combat disease outbreaks; a recent Happiness Index study using South Africans’ tweets; a dialogue on "Promoting Economic and Political Empowerment to Preserve Democratic Principles and Rights"; the professorial inauguration of Professor Annah Moteetee; congratulating UJ Chief Financial Officer Ms Nolwazi Mamorare; and the opening of the UJ Online Brand Shop.
