One cool thing about this scene that I noticed, once Simon figured out that Dwight was the one that ratted him out, his eyes focused more on Dwight out of anger and hatred than they did on Negan out of fear. Makes me wonder just what Simon would have done to Dwight had he beaten Negan in their fight. Dwight is lucky that Negan won that one

Steven Ogg was great in this show. Fun fact, he had auditioned for the role of Negan as well. But the producers liked him so much, they created the character of Simon just for him. Kinda how like they created Daryl for Norman Reedus and Sasha for Sonequa Martin-Green.

Man, Negan really showed himself to be a master of manipulation in this episode.

When he comes back to the Sanctuary, he knows both Dwight and Simon are traitors (Dwight is working with Rick and Simon killed the Scavengers and is plotting to usurp him).

But rather than kill them both right away he uses Dwight to set up Simon (allowing him to snuff out all his co-conspirators) while also allowing Dwight to relay false intel to Rick to lure them into a trap later.

Only when it’s too late then does he reveal

Negan is surprisingly confident at his combat abilities. Even though he has every advantage against simon he would still take a really huge risk by giving simon a fair shot at killing him via hand to hand combat.

This is one of the reasons why Dwight was portrayed so much better here than in the comic.

He wasn't the smartest or the strongest, but was the most sneaky and tactical.

Anyone who can craft out someone else to be the traitor right under your nose is to be admired.
