Most (but not all) cats, by the time they reach adulthood, become lactose intolerant. For that reason, if you want to serve dairy to adult cats, the best option for avoiding possible gastric disturbance is to serve forms that are lactose free: Goat milk, Homemade Kefir (which includes lactobacillus), or any mammilian milk treated with lactaid enzyme.
