Kepler 444: A system with 3 stars and 5 planets

preview_player
Показать описание
Let us take a trip to the nearby star system called Kepler 444. This star system has 3 stars and 5 planets. The main star is an orange star a little smaller than our sun. Orbiting this star are two red dwarf stars, each about a quarter of the size of our sun. Orbiting much closer in are 5 planets. All of these planets are rocky planets similar to but smaller than the earth.
All 5 of these planets orbit very close to the main star meaning that they would all be very hot and almost certainly lifeless. This is however still an interesting place to visit for a little look round.

Amazing that a rocky system could form that far ago... There has to be generations of stars before to create the heavy elemts!!

So cool this video, congrats!

That's a lot of planets within a relatively small area. I wonder if they will destabilize each other in billions or even millions of years.

I wonder if that red dwarf satellites could be tidally locked, or does this happen only to hard surface planets?

I think you meant to say 100, 000 kilometers away instead of a million if it's less than three times the distance to the moon from earth.

But can humans live in them that my question?
