During my divorce, My ex told me that this song had a great impact on why he let me go. The first time I listened to this song with him we both cried because it did hurt when were saying our goodbyes. Every time this song comes up at grocery stores or coffee shop I automatically try to leave right away because I will start crying whenever I hear this song. But now that the storm is calming down I tried listening to this song again and completely understand my ex’s POV about this song and why he chose to let go of me. Because he wanted me to be happier without him in my life. Bastille and Marshmello thank you for this song! Thank you for this stripped version that you did. I’m moving on with my life and his as well but healing will take time and hopefully someday it will come!

This song reminds me so much of my late grandmother. She was such a happy person, always on the go, with so many people who loved her. Sadly due to a problem in her lungs she had to go. In her last breaths I sang for her. And I wished I'd have sung a little better without all the ugly crying. But she left happily either way.. Now with this song Mello, I'll keep remembering her in my happiest times. Thank you for making this song. And remember guys, even if they leave, they're still going to be in your heart.

This version is 10x better. I don’t mind Marshmellow but this song in terms of meaning is not happy in the slightest. It’s still uplifting for wanting the best in someone but it’s better played at a slow tempo with a stronger sadder feeling. It’s wonderful like this.
