Social security disability insurance (SSDI) can provide much needed support for people who are unable to work due to migraine. However, the application process is often filled with time delays, denials and other challenges that prevent people from accessing this benefit.

During this educational webinar, Dr. Dawn Buse, Dr. Robert Shapiro, patient advocate Qasim Amin Nathari and lawyer Stacy Monahan Tucker discuss everything to know before applying for SSDI for the best possible outcome, including application steps that are specific to migraine and how to appeal a denial. At the end, they open the floor to questions from the live audience.

Powering through is SO TRUE for migraine sufferers!
Exactly Holding down a job with migraines is like saying what exactly do you expect??! I can not know until that moment when I will be able to work, then it could change.
Staying off social media or not doing anything on days when you note you have migraines is a slippery slope because I have had migraines and actually tried and done those things to try and save face. Taking meds to the max limit.

I have been on LTD 13 yrs, denied SSDI because I “could work part time”. I had a lawyer but very ineffective and wasn’t one I spoke to through the process. I was very uninformed though throughout the whole process did not know what to do, what I needed, ANYTHING! My neurologist and PCP do work with me closely and have been my Doctors the whole time. I have suffered from migraines since a child. I’m now 51 and they have only become worse with age. I do push myself to get through each day. I currently have 15-19 give take a month.
Any advice??
