We love the Philippines usually visiting for the auspicious Easter celebrations. It's best to go in the first 6 months of the year before the typhoon season but Easter can be very hot indeed. No matter where you go, if you need to travel then you need to be up early to beat the traffic not just in Manila. The people are as beautiful as the white sand beaches and the many other delights the country has to offer. So much to do and see and so many delicious street foods to try. Foreigners will always be the guest of honour at the many fiestas. Hope to visit again soon Mabuhay!

Sorry but Manila is a mess (that's putting it nicely).
I had to wait ONE hour for a taxi at the airport.
It took 45 min to cover 5.7 miles to Malate.

Did you not go to BGC, the modern downtown center of Metro Manila? that's the first stop for any first time tourist here and you seemed to skip it. instead you seemed to go to the downtrodden old city first, not the kind of places tourists would like to go to. No wonder UK tourists hardly ever come here, if this is the image you put up of this place.
