Dog rescued from Detroit River after 4 days on the ice

It's a harrowing story with a long-awaited happy ending. A puppy that became stuck in the middle of the Detroit River on Wednesday was rescued Saturday afternoon from Mud Island by the LaSalle Fire and Rescue in Windsor, Canada.

I don't think I have ever cried so much for 5 days now than I have with this story... The first night he was out on the icey river, I was driving past the park. My heart hurt so much with the thought of him being out there. At one point I had wished that I never knew. I had prayed every single night. Then... When I was working on Saturday (Beaumont Hospital) I saw on my lunch break he was saved! I told my patients, Family members at the hospital and co-workers... This story is so big that patients were crying with tears of joy.. we all were. God bless all involved!

First: HOW do they know he was out there for 3-4 days. Next, When was he first observed being on the river AND from there why was he left there for all those days. I am assuming someone knew he was out there from day one since they are confident in the number of days he was there. Whomever, knew he was there and left him out there are IDIOTS and God's wrath can't happen fast enough, for me.
