Hi, I’m Adam Root. I’m the founder of Inheriting Earth.

I run a technology company, we’re a microplastic technology company.

I was really surprised to find out that microplastics were one of the biggest polluters, if not the biggest polluter in the environment. We have plastic entering our oceans at thousands of tonnes per year.

When you have this vision that’s kind of set and you know that what you need is scale, that’s where investment comes in.

Choose wisely in regards of who you meet. What I mean by that is that Inheriting Earth is supported by Sky Ocean Ventures. Sky is a big partner of ours as well as Innovate UK and they are an impact investor, they care about what we are trying to do and what we are trying to change.

A good investor wants to see you succeed, so make sure you’ve got that plan nailed.

Hello, my name is Rawan and I’m the founder of Halalivery.

Halalivery is an on-demand app that connects people with halal restaurants, butcheries and grocery stores.

Being part of the Young Innovators programme has helped us a lot because first of all as people who are living in the UK, just moved to the UK recently, we didn’t have the right networks and connections to get the exposure that we required.

Mentorship and a lot of support in terms of how do you do your business, how do you manage a product and most importantly what’s the right mindset for an entrepreneur.

The UK is a very great country to start a business, especially in the tech domain. There’s a lot of resources and a lot of investment you just have to know what doors to go after, what doors to knock and you have to do your research.

They definitely want to invest in you because of your strengths, and they want to work on your weaknesses along the way.
