What Happened To HMV Canada?

HMV canada was an expansion of the UK record and cdlldvd store. Through the 1980s and 1990s, before online music and streaming services were a thing, HMV was a popular store having 3 mega stores and one of them even being known as canadas largest store dedicated to music and dvds. and hundreds of well-known artists played music outside their many locations. after the canadian branch of the company was sold in 2011, multiple stores were closed, and from 2014 till 2017, HMV saw declining profits, which they blamed on online music and streaming services. they went out of buisness after a lawsuit, which put them even more into debt. even though HMV is no more, their competitor Sunrise Records leased out 70 former HMV locations and offered jobs to 1300 former employees.
