Also, the success of the movie resulted in a skyrocket of Mr. Potatohead sales; which is what convinced Mattel to let Disney use Barbie in the sequels.

Extra Piece of Trivia: One of the conditions that Tom Hanks had for playing Woody was that he didn't have to sing. Ironically he did have to sing in Toy Story 2

To think there were so many occurrences that could have altered the film, even in minor ways but I'm so glad it didn't change and we have the film that we have today. I can't thank them enough for making such a happy and creative world that even in old age I will never forget.

Me: Coincidence? I think not!

As a bonus fact: the original theatrical cut of Toy Story, which is also on the VHS and earlier DVD releases, did NOT include the Pixar logo in its opening logos. The movie started immediately after Randy Newman's new Walt Disney fanfare, and the first piece of music in the film follows seamlessly from this fanfare, with no hopping lamp to be seen. Later for the Blu-Ray and 3D theatrical release, the original Disney logo was replaced with the new (at the time) Disney castle sequence, and the Pixar logo was added in as well. This is now the only version of Toy Story that you can officially purchase.

Even though the rest of the Pixar movies after this one DID have the hopping lamp logo, later ones through 2007's Ratatouille continued to use Toy Story's Disney logo and most used Randy Newman's fanfare. When these movies were released on Blu-Ray, they too had their Disney castle logo replaced with the current one.
