Kingpin has stated multiple times in the comics that he has a soft spot for kids and has no interest in killing teenage super heroes. He has even prevented other villains from going too hard. Him taking it easy on Kate is absolutely in line with his character as he was portrayed in Runaways and Young Avengers.

Kate's biggest advantage in this fight was Fisk didn't take her seriously. She did great improvising and overall fought smart. But if Fisk had seen her as a threat and not an annoyance he would've killed her.

I get it: “superhero show.” But Kate is a normal human. There should be some semblance of realism. The people writing this scene have never been in any sort of fight. Even one blow from Kingpin that’s strong enough to knock a grown woman 20ft…..you don’t just get up and continue fighting with that. That’s a fresh kind of pain that unless you’re superhuman…you don’t experience. She put up a better fight against Kingpin than Frank Castle did and that really bothers me.
