Vicky Leandros - Pyretos Toy Erota (psychowsky Remix)

Funny, how sometimes you see a random post on a group, about a great track that you had totally forgot. And how you're hit with all that nostalgia, like it was kept safe inside that track, for you to find.
By '89 I was already listening to house and "foreign" (aka international) dance music, not paying too much attention to the Greek scene, which would soon be ravaged by a shitstorm of BAD, tasteless, trashy music. People like Vicky Leandros, among others, tried their best to keep the bar high. However, inevitably, the days of serious or even decent Greek pop where numbered. This song was one of the last songs from a very promising era, which never came to be. I think, knowing that now, understanding it's place on the map and considering the turn of events, is what actually brings all these reminiscent feelings.
The original is a late-night, "silk ballad". Something that you'd listen afterhours, after the party has ended, about the "Fever Of Love" (as the title says), while being lovestruck (oh how I miss those days haha :) ). Of course Vicky Leandros is no stranger to great songs and monumental performances, considering that she was the first Greek artist to win the Eurovision Song Contest, for team Luxemburg. I find her performance especially in the chorus of this song, earth-shattering!
The remix was an spontaneous inspiration. I proceeded however, when manifesting the track, and used a lot of well known Italo "recipes" - like the Emulator II Orchestra hits layering, or the Simmons tom ad-libs. I wanted the listener to feel like they remember hearing the remix, without it actually ever happening. Like it too, was lost in time and found... And I guess it worked. What do you think? :)
