The power of the internet and especially the social network was evident yesterday after the success of an initiative that was born and campaigned for from the internet using such sites as twitter, facebook and youtube. The 'Kenya February 28' initiative that sought to bring the entire nation together at one pm to sing the national anthem was the brainchild of a group of youth determined to preach peace and unity, especially at a time when the country is politically polarized, through the power of music---and most importantly---the national anthem. Kenyans way of marking three years into the signing of the national peace accord that brought peace after weeks of post election skirmishes. Evelyn Wambui reports.

@rashaenka Ulaya, ulaya kwani ulaya ni wapi?? Hata Kenya ni ulaya kwa wale ambao hawaishi Kenya. Why use 'Ulaya' as a measuring parameter??? Proudly Kenya!!!

Are these kids reading the words of the National Anthem from a piece of paper..Didn't they learn in primary school?
