How To Automate Your Governance Strategy for Hundreds of Kubernetes Clusters - Michael Kotelnikov, Red Hat

As the number of Kubernetes clusters grows, it becomes harder to enforce governance and standards across an environment. Clusters drift from a defined baseline and anomalies begin occurring. Addressing the governance challenge in a distributed environment is not an easy task, the policy has to scale together with the environment, adapt to changes and be native to the platform.

In this talk, members of the Red Hat services team in Israel show how they automated the governance strategy for hundreds of Kubernetes clusters by using GitOps principles. The presentation describes the goals, considerations and actions one may define when applying a standard policy across an organization. Furthermore, the talk demonstrates how you can use ArgoCD, Thanos and Gatekeeper to generate a policy, enforce it and scale it as the number of Kubernetes instances grows.
