With a name like "Mud Lake," you may not think this campground is very appealing, but we have added it to our list of favorite places. Quiet setting on a small lake great for kayaking, nice sites, and outstanding Verizon cellular service so we could still get some work done.

Check out our review of Mud Lake State Forest Campground and then check out the campground if you can -- although with only 8 non-reservable spots, let's not have everybody rush there at once! 🙄😄

I went to that campground after I saw your video. I also had excellent Verizon cell service and it is quiet. The lake is calm and this is an excellent place to camp. Thank you both for the reviews! I really enjoy state forest campgrounds and would love to see more of that type of camping if you can. I have a small 20' camper and your videos gives me the best info out there for state forest camping, because sometimes the trees prevent you from getting there with a camper.

That place is just down the road from a friend of mine's overgrown Christmas Tree farm. I agree the lake is weird. There is peat or something within about a foot of the surface. If the locals are fishing there they must know something I don't. I only caught one bluegill and it was almost white due to the lack of sunshine. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
