Your cutting boards look lovely after a good oiling <3 I need to do my own soon as well.

I do want to gently warn against the trend of boiling wooden instruments. I know it's become popular to do so, but it's honestly very bad for the integrity of the wood. Boiling/soaking allows water to deeply penetrate the wood, which causes swelling and subsequent cracking. Over time the wood will separate and dry out, making them prone to harboring even more food, soap, and bacteria. It's the same reason you're not supposed to put them in the dishwasher.

Generally, the best way to make wooden utensils last is to clean them as soon as you're done using them. Oil occasionally, as you do with cutting boards. And if you need to get more gunk off, a stiff scrubber or baking soda paste should do you fine. :)

Would love some more gardening content this year! Even if it’s not like ‘new content’ because you’re growing the same things I’d still love gardening videos :)

The best part about letting seeds and flowers compost in the garden is volunteers that show up next growing season

Thank you for sharing. I live in Denmark and the weather here gets quite cold as well, it's so hard to find good gardening tips that aren't fr4om California or somewhere hot like that.

Oh growing things in winter time is so interesting! Prices are insane lately and I want to get into small 'gardening' at home in an appartment...

Oh gosh, the beginning is a great reminder that I need to take care of our garden boxes before it snows (again)!

Appreciate that this is probably very old advice and everyone is aware but just in case, please make sure that you use "food grade" /" food safe" wood oil. Happy oiling, everyone 😊🎉

Love the fact you grow micro greens as well! I grow them year round as they are a perfect topper for everything!!

Thanks for the reminder about sprouts - I will start some today! I just picked a bunch of chard and we're hoping to get some collards too, if we don't have a hard freeze (NW Oregon).

I just watched a vlog by another YouTuber that I've watched for a few years. She is doing a moving series and she's buying soooo much for her new place and my eco anxiety is through the roof. Immediately came here to get some anxiety relief. Thank you Immy!

Hey Immy, I am happy to say that I have a batch of sprouts on the go as I type this. I just love that fresh, green, fluffy blend of flavour and nutrients especially in the winter. Thanks for the reminder to clean my cutting board, it’s a job that is long overdue in my kitchen. WOW, I love your knife!! I think I could easily spend a lot of time in that knife shop that you mentioned… good knives make home cooking so much more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing all these excellent tips and reminders. Much appreciated, Ⓜary💕🌿🔪

I have a few similar things I need to check off my to do list that I’ve been putting off (deep cleaning my stand mixer being the most dreaded), so thank you for the inspiration and the reminder to oil my cutting boards

I am having a very rough time with my mental health this week and this video cheered me up considerably, Immy... thank you for being such a genuinely kind person. Thinking of making extra sourdough starter to see if other people need it, that just warmed my heart a little. Also your mentioning it's nice to have microgreens around for fresh food during winter, almost made a little light come on over my head. I am not looking forward to the bleakness of winter this year, and maybe having some fresh greens around might help on that count. I may try out sprouting some microgreens myself this year!

I encourage you to try winter sowing! It’s the best way to grow native plants in colder climates…even your veggies will be heartier! Great video🥰🥰🥰
