Best thing i ever did was going from 4 cam to 2 or 3 cam. Much longer sessions, and pretty much the same speed...

Nice testing!! Certainly looked like challenging conditions at times, but those conditions always make for more realistic tests....I use no camber free race sails, easy to rig, easy to handle, not that much slower, the main limiting factor for me is the chop in the places I sail....
I feel with an easier handling sail you can run longer sessions and have an eaiser time on the water which makes it more enjoyable, its not like I am trying to win a race, I'm just out there with friends enjoying my sailing.

pretty cool! I'm loving my Ac-1 and Ac-Z. One thing that I noticed is that I can handle the gusts better on the Ac-1, I feel like accelerating more and I get less pull from the sail, not the same on the Ac-Z since I feel the sail pulling me out of stance. It could be a trimming thing but I need more time on the water with both.

I have 2cam, 3cam en full slalomsails. After trying them all over a longer time, i really believe the 3cam sails are the optimal. Really steady sails, can be sailed overpowered much better then 2 cams but still have the smoothness. So the intermediate surfers should use not more then 3cam.
The 3cam sails of different brands do still have a lot of differences. Like Gun Vector, KA Koncept and S-type all feel different from eachother. Some have a bigger mastsleeve then the others.

Thanks Nils. Really interesting. Agree that an acx comparison would be interesting too. I have the 6.5, 7.5 and 8.4 acx. I went for those because I'm still learning to gybe properly :)

Nice test, nice vid, as always👊 However, you really should throw in the AC-X into the test as well, as it might be a bit more comarible ... / I downgraded my setup two years ago towards slalomboard+ 3 cam freerace sails and am really happy about the benefit in handling without really losing much performance concidering my aim as a recreacinal freerace/slalom surfer;) Aloha🤙

Pros should pro gear and nobody else should do. But unfortunately this industry needs to produce production pro gear therefore they offer it also to ordinary people. This is what I clearly dislike in the industry. Go "custom" again with pro gear and then customers are not faced with wrong choices.
