Great video, especially taking the time for the close ups to show what's going on.

Excellent video! Be sure to brush away the filings when done. I’ve gotten some nasty metal splinters from this process.

Just what I was looking for, this video. Thanks for sharing this. I know about doing this procedure, I just haven't had any luck the way I have been trying to do it. I have tried a file and a sander. My brother is a Logger so he does it good but I haven't had any luck. What is the name of the dressing tool ? Thank you

What causes the bar to wear? I get deep groves in my bar...I'm running a 76inch wide milling bar...
I appreciate your vids man!!

A carpenters square pushed against the side of the bar with sandpaper on the short side and Bob is u uncle. Lots cheaper n effective!

I have an old Craftsman that the top/bottom of the bar look decent but the tip, where the guide pins are, one side has a deep groove and the outer edge is higher then the groove. Is it possible to dress the tip on the bar without messing up the guide pins?

Should you pull the file instead of pushing when you file the other side so the file doesn’t get worn out?
