My flow chart: Am I absolutely in love with this character? If Yes then Pull, whether I need them or not. If No, then do I need this character DESPERATELY for a team? If Yes, Pull. If No, then Skip. With this flow, I typically skip banners, which allows me to really focus on building and gearing my existing teams and saving resources for when I eventually pull again. I participate in the end game modes and if I can get all the stars, I am usually not pressed to pull. That said, if/when Tingyun comes out and she is a 5-star, she gets pulled even if she sits on the bench 95% of the time. :)

It would be good if they added load-outs so I could have lightcones and relics saved for a team. One reason why I end up farming lots of similar relics is that it's just cumbersome to switch them between characters

I have been saying this for years - for all gacha games I've been playing, from Star Rail to Blue Archive, all of them manage resources to some extent.
And when people usually complain to me (or others) that they're low on gacha funds...I have to restrain myself from telling them that "you're impatient, don't plan anything and sometimes don't even play daily".

Gacha games do be resources management games but you you have to fight against the devs that are trying to make you go bankrupt IRL and in game xD

To me, the limited resource nature of HSR is what makes it fun. If you had infinite resources, it gets boring fast (at least for me). With limited resources, it requires more creativity in figuring out solutions based on your circumstances / making do with what you have. You're incentivized to figure out / optimize things in various ways to help compensate for lack of resources, which the process of that can be quite fun. The gacha / RNG nature of pulls also makes each circumstance unique, so the solutions to each case can be more varied and interesting to consider.

I think the reason I watch your channel the most of HSR content really is the diversity and the methodology of progressing in HSR! I also appreciate the encouragement for vertical investment (what I want to do) and understanding the trade offs of missing certain characters. Also the comparison of investment for different characters is probs some of the videos I actively seek out!

Vertical investment (i.e. e6 limited) kills the fun so hard. However im proud to have built out 3 archetype teams (acheron, firefly superbreak, and feixiao fua) evenly spread with 2-3 limited 5* chars in each team, all e0. F2p, started acheron banner, and lost more 5050s than i have won. Definitely feels like im winning tho, able to clear all eg content with still a little bit of challenge to keep me engaged

Gacha games operate on a bell curve. On the far left are people who only pull for the hottest character. In the middle are people who calculate every single mechanic to determine the most optimal pulls at all times to remain relevant in an ever changing meta. And then in the far right you loop back around to pulling for the hottest character.

Huge fan of the no nonsense style of information dump but I think the formats are starting to get really repetitive, might have something to do with the frequency as well .. maybe mix in some gameplay footage or pull videos ? Just my 2 cents

This is all fine in theory but I feel everyone doesn't realize one crucial factor. Powercreep. I watched a ton best team video when I started playing. I saved for each character in the team and by the time all banners had passed and I had my characters they were already power crepts by the new one just coming out... And the enemies are also stronger than before. And now I'm out of gems. So you're always playing catch up with the banners. And doesn't help that Hoyo releases useful characters together like Kafka/Black swan. So most people can't get both and have to wait

I started playing this game because of kafka, and decided to only pull chars i like.
As a f2p since the start of the game i have only pulled on 5 chars: Kafka E2S1 (289 pulls), Black Swan E1S1 (197 pulls), Ruan Mei E2S1 (225 pulls), Feixiao E1S1 (50 pulls) and Robin E0S0 (24 pulls).

I am saving up for Aventurine as i lost the 50/50 and then hope a better sustain for DOT comes other than HH and if not then i'll pull HH.

I am just lucky i guess that all the chars i love are all really really strong especially with eidolons.
After i get good sustains i'll just get the chars i like to as high as i can or i get any other chars i like in the future.

As for MoC/PF/the other one i just auto it and try a few times and see what i get

I have 1 rule for gacha, pull for supports instead of dps. DPS will come and go, supports (excluding healers) will make or break the game.

Just look at leaks & strategize your pull. You won by cheating, but that's okay, it's a game not real life problem.
