I don’t know why I like this game but I can’t stop.

when I first played stardrew valley it felt like a game you could play in small bits every now and then.

somehow I ended up doing the exact opposite: I played it without a break for like 4 days and then never touched it again for some reason :D

I was so obsessed with my farm that I started dreaming about going down the mines and discovering an ancient civilisation below coupled with a few dwarves.

so lets conclude from all those comments below, u have to be chill while playing this game, u dont have to run after all tasks man, u dont have to complete the community needs so quickly, just chill, everything will be okay, let the passion flow up. why dont you try a normal life? water the crops in morning, collect artisans in 9 am, and go fishing till the dusk came down! then rest your dah by drop at Stardrop Saloon, and enjoy few drinks? Does this sounds normal? Dont get involved by all quests (although you know how to pass it) just chill, let your mind enjoy the game, and dont be obsessive about all things in this big games. got it?

actually this game, allow us to choose our own way to enjoy (this is endless game, you will get nothing after complete all the tasks dont it?) so this stuff didnt force us to do all tasks, but choose the right tasks, to fulfill the part of our way in this game.

You mention around 2:18 how nice it is to pop in Stardew and just slow down.

Thing is, the first 4-5 times I've legit tried to play Stardew Valley, I never got past Fall of the first year. There's so much to do in the game that it always felt a bit overwhelming. I'd start to farm, then get a fishing pole and try to fisu, then get told about the community center...so I try to fill that up asap, then the mines open up and now I want to get down to the bottom as quick as I can. On top of the seasonal events, keeping NPC happiness up, filling up the museum, upgrading tools, and doing the Adventurers guild stuff.

I legit got burnt out. Every save I started, I'd get to month 2 or 3 of the first year, and get tired and just quit. I always felt like I HAD to do everything as quickly as I could, and I'd get irritated if I missed something one month for the community center, or didn't have enough money to buy a certain event-specific item.

I only recently started a new save after months of not playing. Figured with the newest updates, I might as well give it another shot. I'm only at the end of Spring on year 1, but I'm having more fun. I've decided to chill out. If I miss something, I miss it. No big deal, it'll be there next year. Like, I didn't even think to plant green beans, so I'm gonna miss them this year in the community center. But oh well.

I'm also not rushing to do things constantly. Some days I'll just say fuck it and make it a lazy day where I just fish junk items for the recycler or something.

Way more fun and relaxing this way.

I loved the relaxed at "your own pace" feel of this game. Thats why I always end up min maxing the hell out of it like my life depends on it.

The way me and my friend literally have ‘stardew days’ where we spend a whole day playing the game.

We once played it on a 4 hour train journey….that journey felt like 30 minutes because we were playing stardew the entire time it didn’t feel like time was passing.

I've been playing farming games since I discovered Harvest Moon on the GBC. I went to a funeral 600 miles away and this game (along with Pokemon) went with me. I had maxed everything out. I was like 9 then, but I still liked more hardcore games like Zelda as well as games like Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons. Sometimes you need a chill game to play just to have some variety in your life, something you don't have to worry about screwing up a mission or quest.
