The legendary Houdini is renowned as a popular magician and escape artist. The Hungarian born American started his performances in the late nineteenth century and toured the US and Europe with his many astonishing feats. He’s remembered for the uniquely skillful tricks he developed, starting from escaping handcuffs to underwater straitjackets, being chained to skyscrapers and buried alive, and amazing conjuring such as making an elephant disappear. Although many recognized his tricks as faked, Houdini insisted on maintaining professional standards, suing imitators and also exposing other artists as fraudulent. But there was one chilling phenomenon that he was never able to solve the mystery of.

I love this kinda stuff. I don't know about being able to photograph spirits but I do know that loved ones can communicate with us. My deceased brother made his self known to me about 4 months after he died. It scared the heck out of me. I also "talked" to my mother a about 2 days after she died about where she had put a ring. My dad had searched everywhere for it and after me communicating with her I had a vision of where it was. It was there and he had already looked for it there. It was strange.

Fascinating, I had heard about everything in here regarding Houdini except for that one supposed spirit photo which he couldn’t explain.

Houdini made a pact with his wife. If he preceded her in death, she would go to a medium and they set up a secret code word that would prove that the medium was in contact with Houdini's spirit. Houdini's wife at first admitted that the medium did indeed reveal the secret word, but for some reason she later retracted the initial admission that the medium revealed the word, which if memory serves, was "believe".

Houdini never actually was able to debunk "Marjorie" and resorted to pure defamation. Read the book, "The Witch of Lime Street" which tells the whole story.

I recently saw a documentary piece, maybe MYSTERIES AT THE MUSEUM, that said Houdini may have been murdered by the Spiritualist movement. Everyone loves a conspiracy.

Arthur Ford, as far as I know, was not a fraud....he was a genuine trance medium. Why would that secret phrase been published in a biography of Houdini if it was secret? Makes no sense.

Overexposure would not produce a spirit photograph, but rather a photograph that is barely visible. What you mean is double exposure, a negative that is exposed twice upon two different subjects.
