I would LOVE to watch a spin off with Jackson in his Avery Foundation work. Meredith could even guest star or be a recurring character as her other projects flicker in and off. There are a ton of medical shows on right now, and older shows available to stream. There are very few shows exploring the Bill and a Melinda Gates life of philanthropy. Previous dialogue has revealed that the “Avery Foundation” was not just a corporate medical overlord…it is involved worldwide.

Imagine the stories a show about “The Foundation” could generate. I created a partial list as I sit here eating a late lunch:
1) Running the Catherine Avery award and this could be a time when real medical pioneers (or their acting aviators) could show off the latest medical inventions the world is talking about. Do you remember when Maggie Pierce’s character became full-time? She started on the last episode of a season and she was seen trying to diagnose a family with cardiomyopathy. While the show was on hiatus, a discovery of a NEW gene responsible for cardiomyopathy made national news. Grey’s picked that TRUE story up and showed Maggie praising the DNA lab and reassuring a family that their children died from a disease and not abuse and neglect. I mention that as an example of how Grey’s is equipped to integrate true medicine into their story lines and a lot of people would love to understand the medical and science aspect of care

2) difficulty of getting donations to allow the foundation to run on investment income and addressing changing views in healthcare, taxes, etc. perhaps stories about whether they should accept “tainted” donations from “bad actors” with actual real money.

3) many medical schools offer dual degree MBA programs because there is a business end to running medicine. Grey ‘s writers are very skilled and I am certain they could take us there in a way that isn’t a snooze fest

4) preparing and helping with world wide disaster relief…usually, a show may do an episode in a Hurricane or earthquake and after the instant episode, there is little evidence a major disaster just happened in the next episode. You may see a character still on crutches if she broke her leg in the earthquake, etc. the roads seem up a running immediately, etc. Real life teaches us that getting infrastructure rebuilt is difficult. Puerto Rico is a case study in disaster nightmares.

Perhaps, if people really understood the relentless problems created by disasters (and how they are 100 times worse in third world or impoverished countries), people might be more interested in donating to places like Red Cross. Chuck Lorre ‘s vanity cards are legendary for their unique message each week. Producers of a program like I am envisioning could use their vanity cards to give viewers info on the real life inspirations for that week’s episode. If an episode is showing a radically redesigned artificial heart, for example, the vanity card could give the info on the group really doing the work and how to reach and support that group.

As I type all of this, I am starting to think my dream spin off is leaning more into a real life medical oriented “20/20” of the week. That isn’t so bad, however.

There is really very little out there for educated viewers who want to learn about things outside of their wheelhouse.

So true, Meredith Grey is the dream of every young women out there both on and off screen. She didn’t let her personal feelings overrule her thinking and save lives, like Izzie did, or compromise her career over her family and not be there for her kids, like Ellis did. She is the legacy

Very wise words. We can often see our parents only by the pedestal our mind holds them. As an adult when you spend some quality time with them, you realise they are just human, they make faults and did so. You walk away realising they were not how you imagined they were. Is a release once you figure that out.

I’m just truly dissatisfied that I have to literally wait a whole entire month and a half for the episode 7 of Grey’s Anatomy & station 19 next year in 2023!

its time for the show to end already!
there is no Grey's anatomy without Meredith grey😢
i would rather have the show end on a good note than to ruin it with a unnecessary dragging storyline
