The video explores the details of China's Marine Corps and Army's amphibious assault brigades, and compares their numbers and capability to the US Marine Corps. While powerful, the USMC has gotten a powerful competitor in the form of Chinese naval infantry units, which may've eclipsed their US competitors.

Ya'll need to calm down. The video isn't biased, it's just numbers. The Marine Corp had access to this info and still decided to scrap it's tanks to become more mobile. It's like comparing an Airborne company to a Mechanized company. Different job profiles, so different equipment loadouts. America's doing what it thinks is the best strat and China's prepping for what they think is best.

I love that everyone is suddenly a 4 star general with extreme tactical knowledge

You don't answer the most important question.... Which marine corps has the superior crayons.

The US marines are preparing for general tasks that involves conflicts all over the world while the Chinese marines are preparing for a single task that is to end their civil war with ROC.

No matter what topic Binkov discusses he always gets man child rage in the comments. Today he's a Russian pawn. Tomorrow a Chinese pawn and then next day a NATO puppet.

A lot of people in this comment section seem to be talking about the Marines removing tanks. They are delegating it to the Army. Just like my job of aircraft mechanic at my particular base was downsized so air force would do it instead. More Marines for amphibious capability, same amount of equipment available. It just means more Marines can be infantry, drone, and artillery.

The funny thing, the US marine is not supposed to attack contested beachheads. That is the reason why the EFV was cancelled. The Navy says it is impossible to attack a contest beach in the 21st century, thus an amphibious IFV is useless. According to the Navy, the Marines are either supposed to attack completely destroyed beachheads or undefended smaller beachheads.

Every American soldier has two mothers, so the Chinese army has no chance

The US Marine Corps also has its own air component specifically for the Marine Corps. Fixed wing and rotary. They don’t need the US Air Force or US Navy for air support.

The difference is because China is planning a more conventional landing invasion, where as the US is planning asymmetric, hit and run warfare. The US doesn't really need to invade large islands, where as China is planning on invading Taiwan, and if anything as shown us with Ukraine, u don't need a lot of heavy tracked vehicles with cannons to make a difference. Just some troops who are highly maneuverable, have timely intel on enemy movements, and some decently ranged smart munitions to deploy to make a difference. Binkov should do a video on the US Marines transformative doctrine they have been implementing the last few years, if they haven't already. It's been pretty controversial.

Being in the Marines myself we are currently going though a force redesign and are specifically training to fight China.

Hey Binkov! Big fan. There was a major fight to change in the Marine Corps a few year ago you should check out. Look up Force Design 2030. The Marine Corps primary goal is a force in readiness that can respond quickly and hold ground for other US forces to mobilize, to do that, we needed to be self contained to fight (F35B's, etc). The new doctrine calls for uncontested beach landings and moves away from the over the horizon models due to long range anti-shipping, anti-armor, etc. The 3rd MarDiv (check out their youtube site) or the force that just finished being redesigned for the first contact with China. It is designed to be small, distributed thus more survivable. The idea is area denial which the Navy needs right now until the longer range air power six gen fighters are ready. It's not the old days where you can stage 50, 000 Marines on Okinawa as China can missile swam those bases now. So they are focused on small teams setting up radar and anti-shipping weapons, longer range fires via HIMARS PrSM, etc. etc. over a large amount of distance that can work with little to no direction. If you didn't know any of this the Marine Corps would look much less ready to fight, hope that helps.

So china took a bunch of their Army, called them Marines, and made huge formations that dont have integrated aerial support or electronic warfare assets? Ask the Russians in Ukraine how THAT strategy plays out IRL

I still trust the US crayon eaters. My time in the USAF taught me to never doubt those lunatics' abilities to adapt and overcome. So long as you don't trust their coordinates for close air support targets and the pilot knows to examine on arrival they're good. It's okay Marines, we actually put AF personnel in Army units to do the target designation. Or a least we did back in 08, shit changes, and I was a computer programmer who got sent to Iraq to man an M-2 on a Humvee. The AF is mysterious in its own stupidity.

Having access to all that hardware doesn't mean anything unless you can actually get it to where you need it. That's why the Corps is getting rid of their tanks, they crunched the numbers. And the thing is, everything revolves around the infantry. Every Marine is an infantryman, right down to the cooks. Everything revolves around supporting the infantry for them. The USMC has been in the business of expeditionary and amphibious warfare for a very long time, even before WW2. The espirt de corps is strong there with a rich military tradition that predates the US itself. The USMC is kind of a cult with their commandant as their head priest. They're a little crazy, a little high strung, and they're proud of it.

This is a comparison between Quality vs Quantity. It's that simple. No ego. No politics. Straight up numbers.

Ahh, but the average American male weighs 16% more than the average Chinese male, so in terms of landed human tonnage the USMC is higher.
