0:29 "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave!"

hang in there bro! I have no CNC so your aluminum case is still far and beyond what I can make for myself. That gadget looks pretty great for real-life standards and freaking awesome for made at home standards. Tony Stark built this in a cave with a box of scraps, but he actually had a whole special effects team doing the polish and bugfixes.

5:10 In my experience RayLib works pretty well with Raspberry Pi and it has built in support for touchscreen and some basic UI elements

i feel like iron man got so many into engineering

The slowness is probably from the screen. From what I recall using a screen connected over GPIO bypasses the GPU so you cant use hardware acceleration on anything so the CPU is always dying. personally I would have used one of the pi compute modules but I have no way of making an interface board for that, nor do I know of any off the shelf units.

iron might have inspired u and me into engineering, u inspired me into just building cool shit. as a cs major i thought it was impossible to actually build robots like i always wanted but im done thinking like that. im building cool shit now regardless of how long it takes :) just started on my personal robot assistant a few weeks back and ive made some decent progress. ty and continue posting :)

U can use a cm4 board its small and compact.

not sure if this would be suitable for the project entirely, but what if you only made the raspi stream from another computer, and all the calculations were done remotely? like for example a vps or a home server. this way the pi can just be lazy and only require an internet connection of some sort, and possible still be able to stick with using a smaller, lower powered pi like the first one you used in the video? i cant imagine a 4g adaptor would take up much space either? maybe not what youre looking for, but just an idea

super cool project! Looking forward to seeing what you do next. Kinda sad youre not putting the coral in there, maybe try and get the case off of it to save room? Cyberdeck with a coral is sick af

Can I get a copy of the cnc file and for the next version use a radxa zero 2 pro you may need a new display

I really want to make a cyberdeck with a blackberry style thumb keyboard for RPi Zero W/2W devices. No touch screen or GUI; just a plain TTY on a plain LCD.

Instead of using a Pi 3 with the ports ripped off, why don't you just use the compute module 4
