YouTube might not exist in 5 or 10 years because of a few bad decisions, here's why.
Susan Wojcicki is ruining Youtube by some bad business decisions and selling lots of youtube's creativity for big profits at a big cost, making youtube bad and is why youtube is now trash. Here's why Youtube sucks nows, and the golden age of youtube is dead and tiktok is taking over youtube. Here's why youtube is dying. It all comes from Youtube's business strategy and business model making money from killing youtube's creativity.

YouTube is making it hard for creators to put out content, very little ad revenue is paid to creators, shorts don't count in for anything and we also have to pay tax to the US with no benefits whatsoever. Viewers also have a hard time consuming content because of the massive overload of ads and the removal of dislike button where no one knows the true value of a video anymore. I hope that YouTube becomes a great platform to consume content again.

Compared to other platforms, YouTube gives the most to its creators giving 55% rev share. TikTok being a greedy platform gives these small “creator funds” and 0% rev share, they will never beat YouTube that way. If TikTok doesn’t change their rev system, they will die the same way vine did. I respect the opinion of this video, but I extremely disagree.

Oh god, living in a timeline where TikTok kills YouTube completely is something dreadful

Two ways YouTube is slowly killing itself. Too much censorship and too many ads.

I'm slightly optimistic, even if Youtube does soon shut down or completely collapse. There is no way 100% of Youtube's audience will go to TikTok or otherwise let a disgusting, low-value platform be their new main source of video entertainment. When the censorship here first struck, some even uploaded the uncensored versions on p*rn sites, and there are attempts to provide an alternative to Youtube that I've only seen in passing so far. When there's demand, there's a way. There is a whole generation that grew up with this site now, and it won't let this culture and the original ideas go to waste.

The fact YouTube refuses to solve so many issues on this platform proves their ignorance

i feel like the only thing thats keeping youtube up is the content creators in it. youtube ruins it with unneeded and useless updates. they should start doing something about it tbh

As much as I dislike the way youtube is being handled, having the chinese spyware dominate the market is the worst possibility.

I completely agree with everything except comparing how much time it took youtube and tiktok to get to billions of active users, sure tiktok reached this number faster, but it was launched around 2017/2018, Youtube in 2005, you can't compare 2005 to 2018, as obviously in 2018 the internet was different, more accessible and the social media's effect on promoting a platform was far stronger in 2018 than it ever was in 2005

Youtube used to be great but now it's more like Clickbait Tube. All of the popular video that get the most views have thumbnails and titles that are vague and unclear, yet contain important information if you watch the video. Titles like 'Do This!', 'You're Doing This Wrong', 'The Real Reason Why Such and Such Happened', 'Top Ten Ever, #1 Will Shock You!', etc.... Youtube has been taken over by people who know how to make thumbnails and titles that tempt people to watch them. It may have nothing at all to do with the quality of the video.

This what happens when youtube doesn't listen to the community and doesn't fix things

now there are ads on videos that are “demonetized”. it was never about advertisers being upset with their ads being shown on certain videos. it was about a grasp for control.

I really hope YouTube keeps on going just for people's mental health. Watching funny 1 min videos all day cannot be good for your mind. Long video content on it self is not good, but many important things in our society need far longer than 1 min to be said. I am worried about our young children getting shorter and shorter attention spans which I think will likely lead to lower IQ levels.

YouTube was better when it was about fun, not "monetisation".

The fact that youtube demonetized this video really says a lot.

If YouTube does go away, it will be because it pushed content creators and users away. I don't go on TikTok and hope to never have to. I hope that YouTube wakes up and starts making changes to keep it from going away.

YouTube should have stuck with “broadcast yourself” business model now it’s nearly indistinguishable to cable.

There needs to be a follow up video on this. Youtube now forces ads onto people and said ads are as annoying and loud as TV commercials. You cannot relax anymore since those ads often feel like jump scares. I normally use adblock to keep my sanity, but since today I'm not allowed to watch Youtube until I either disable my adblocker or get premium.
Managed to make it work again with another extension, but who knows for how long this lasts. If Youtube keeps doing this crap; it will indeed be dead in a few years.
