This is a quick introduction to optimization in Cadence. I optimize a voltage divider circuit to output a specified voltage. This simulation takes place in ADE XL and I show you how to set it up step by step. Setting up the simulation may take a while, but running the simulation takes less than a minute. This is definitely quicker than designing the circuit by hand.
