Are dart guns really that underused? I know they are not the most popular option but they are unironically really good. All hardmode darts have unique properties and are well suited for the mechs. You can even defeat plantera with these weapons but obviously the competition at this stage gets much stronger

In my first 1.4 playthrough, i had to stack myself up because i was playing summoner before the obsidian armor. In endgame, i ended up getting a bunch of other classes' weapons to deal as many debuffs as possible to help with daytime empress. I had a clorophyte shotbow with frost arrows, the ichor book, a dart pistol with cursed flame darts, and the daybreak helping do as much bonus tick damage as i possibly could alongside the summon tag.

I used the dart pistol in one of my most recent playthrue and it was deacent damage, and you can shoot ichor, very good for mechs, support weapon not main damage

Dart guns are my favourite weapons in the entire game. By making ichor darts, cursed darts and crystal darts you have a whole arsenal of ammo, each dart having its on gimmick. Ichor splits midair, cursed rains down cursed flames and crystal bounces off targets and homes in pretty much. I use it in every ranger playthrough to kill mechs.

a friend used the breathing reed in pre hardmode once, and i used both the dart guns for the mech bosses. cursed darts are really good for destroyer

Dart rifle looks way too cool to be THAT wack
Also with the Toxic Carp, doesn't looks like it should shoot bubbles, looks like it should spit acid, one of my biggest Terraria weapon/item peeves

I've done a dart only run, and I'm very thankful for the dart weapons. There are 4 in total, and I believe 5 types of darts as well (seeds, crystal, poison, cursed, and ichor)
