Reports claim that domestic abusers could soon be released early under Labour’s new "SDS40" scheme, aimed at reducing overcrowding in UK prisons.

The program could allow prisoners to be freed after serving just 40-45% of their sentences. Among the 1,700 set for release next Tuesday are men convicted of serious domestic violence offenses, including one who strangled his partner and broke her jaw.
