"Judge not" is the favorite verse of someone trying to defend a sinful lifestyle. For some, it is the only verse they know.

"It's not a command not to judge, it's a command on how to judge"
Wow, this is a great way to sum it up.

"Judge not lest you be judged" seems to be the favorite verse of the unbeliever and the disobedient Christian.

the Bible does not tell us to abandon discernment, it does the opposite

"By their fruits, ye shall know them." - Jesus. He's telling us to judge the fruits of others. Hallelujah 🙌!

Jesus taught us how to judge- righteously & carefully knowing we can stumble, by the same devices.

Yes, exactly! He isn't telling us not to judge at all, He's teaching us how to judge _righteously._

The thumbnail is hysterical, whoever did this deserves a raise

Most people who say, "judge not lest ye be judged, " are usually hoping that some immoral issue in their own life will not be pointed out.

People don't want to be judged because they want to avoid consequences and correcting. They want to be reckless careless no discipline and self control. They don't want people to say anything about it

Amen! I have said this for decades. Pastors, and folks with big followings, should be getting this out there so that Christians CAN judge truthfully and not just be shut up by people telling them not to judge.

THANK YOU!! I'm so sick of ignorant haters who tell us we're "not supposed to be judging". Yes, we are. It's HOW that matters.

People who insist on not judging not only judge everyone else but say that because they don't want God's word to judge them. Because they know it's right.

Frank, My comment is not about your content it is about the background music. I love music and it is lovely but very distracting to me and I am sure others are bothered about it too. The only way I can describe it is when a huge fly keeps buzzing around your head that you can't hit with a fly swatter. I would much rather keep my focus on what you are preaching than to listen to a competing secondary sound. Other than that your teaching is spot on. Your examples about witnessing are very practical. You get to the point of how to "address the elephant in the room" when it comes to witnessing about Jesus. Thank you for your ministry.

Absolutely. You have to read the surrounding context. The Lord is commanding us to judge without hypocrisy.

Just as the English word *love* has several meanings, so also do the words *judge & judgment* have. All too often when people say, "Who are you to judge me?" they usually mean, "Don't condemn me, " or "Don't belittle me for this or that." Few actually understand or care to know what that word means. Most do not want to be held responsible for their words & actions or for who they are, and that's a condemnation aspect of the word.

Not only are we allowed to judge, we are commissioned to help others see the clear path of their acts and/or words have consequences, and also need to understand there are more than one meaning of that word.
There are two main definitions:
1. The word can mean to *evaluate* a situation, event, action, words, etc. It involves investigating whether something is true or false... thus we make a judgment call at the conclusion of collecting and discerning what is going on.
2. The other aspect is to condemn. We are warned not to condemn someone for what they do since that involves placing value upon them as well as to what degree a penalty should be meted out upon them. That is for God to do and not us.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ve always believed this to be the correct interpretation of this passage. It’s been the most misquoted and misunderstood verse in the Bible.

Judgment, conclusions, determinations, decisions, these must be made countless times during any given day.
