The reason why we don't dicuss much about the anime is, cuz the theme is not simply shounen or fantasy. It's like each and every character have a lot of thought going on inside of them. In a nutshell it combines human psychology in action and fantasy. Also the times I have tried persuading my friends they deny watching as it isn't as famous as top animes :)

Also did I say the chatacters in the anime are inspired from authors of real life. Give it a try anyone who is reading my comment.

i actually just realised how quiet bsd fandom is.... the fandom is like that one group of friends who are so loud with each other, but so quite with other people

As a Bsd fan I can only say that we're everywhere but no one sees us, like I was with my friend in school and we were reading Bsd until a random girl went up to us saying that she's also a Bsd fan, the plot is really confusing and fandom is really crazy, the thing can be that probably most of the Bsd fans are Russian or Europe (I'm living in Eastern Europe)

I've noticed this too, as a bungou stray dogs fan. There are a LOT of us, but we're all very weirdly quiet and we stay very well contained in our corner. I think it's because we assume BSD is more niche than it is, so we keep our interest in it to ourselves because we don't see others talking about it, which just continues the cycle of silence lol

The thing with BSD is it's mainly character driven rather than plot driven. We don't talk much about the plot because we're talking about the characters, how complex they are, their life stories, etc.

In reality the two actually hated each out. Also there are 2 types of fans:
1. Those Who like the hot characters and do the ships or like the animation and VAs in the show
2. Those Who read several of the works of these authors and can see how the anime brings the works to life in a creative way and mixes the works in a creative way

As a BSD fans, the more you know the inspiration for the anime and the characters, the more you'll understand and like the anime. Because, I just can't fathom how creative the author is.

Bsd fandom definitely doesn't hate Asagiri as much as JJK fans hate Gege
Mostly it's got to do with many plot twists in the recent chapters that makes fans really anxious. Like you think heros won then, suprise the situation gets worse. But wait! The heroes had been planning for that outcome! Hold your horses!! The villain had a hidden card in their sleeve all along! The conflict goes from worse to unimaginable
You have to keep up with the genius characters of BSD who are playing 5d chess without a chessboard and are constantly flipping the imaginary board upside down, with multiple twists, 20 step plan under a 30 step plan and ect.
So it's really a rollercoaster of destruction happening there

Hello! Bsd fan here, the fandom is definitely a little more focused on romance stuff rather than the actual plot, so that stuff doesn't really have much to do with the series. The plot is basically an orphan finds out he has a special ability and joins the armed detective agency, who are basically detectives with superpowers(most of them) It's a really good series, wnd the plot can be confusing at times... But it's good. I really appreciate character design and that's one of my favorite parts of the show as well. You should definitely check it out to form your own opinion about it!

As a bsd fan I have never gotten spoiled for a manga chapter or episode
Also its super hard to spoil it when not even the fans know whats going on, like the new chapters got me so confused, the good old days when i thought it was just about detectives

I never noticed that, every single anime I have ever watched either gets spoiled for me or spoilers get me to watch it but for BSD I just really liked the fan art I kept seeing but had no idea what I was getting into

I originally had no intention of betting into BSD till I gave in after a friend begged me to, and I'm absolutely obsessed with it now, it's become my favorite anime, the characters, story and everything is just so genuinely good and I find myself watching so many episodes a day even when I don't watch as much anime as I used to (thanks to doomscrolling 💀), I didn't even know it was about authors first because I wasn't familiar with Japanese authors initially, honestly it's probably a good thing the fandom doesn't talk much about it aside from the characters that way new fans don't get spoiled, cuz it gets pretty crazy 😭 (tho I had gotten some spoilers because I was stupid and looked at memes before catching up on the anime)

We dont hate Asagiri, I mean, he literally wrote all the scenes that make bsd amazing. He just drags us along a rollercoaster of emotions and honestly its worth it.
