Congratulations on your and Ben's anniversary! MP is my favourite, no questions asked. I do relate to Fanny the most, maybe that's why - we had a comparable childhood and it affected our personalities in similar ways (I don't believe all of Fanny's meekness and passivity are naturally hers). I love MP because it shows a variety of personalities in both good and bad light, and how the excess in either direction can be. For me, JA is an author whose works I like better and better the more I read them!

Sense and Sensibility/ Persuasion but I adore Northanger Abbey too. Lucy Worselys' book on Jane is superb, she's a wonderful writer as well as broadcaster. Happy Anniversary, what a beautiful bookish rose.

My favorite is always a toss up between Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion. 3 is always Northanger Abby, 4 and 5 is a toss up between Emma and Sense and Sensibility and 6 is always Mansfield Park (poor Mansfield Park!)

🖋 Sense and Sensibility. So many people have told me they didn't like it at first. When I was young reading it I related to the sisters losing a parent and trying really hard to carry on and finding security and love. I think the love story everyone misses in the novel is the sisters honestly. Its just special to me. Pride and Prejudice is up there as is Persuasion 😊.
