As a CPR instructor and someone that worked in the medical field for over 20 years. One of the best resources (besides hands on training) is the American College of Emergency Physicians First Aid Manual.
Its a phenomenal step by step guide written by actual ER Docs.p

This is a valuable resource and a wonderful presentation by Nick. I love Nick's style - no long preamble, just direct, to the point: what, why and how. Thank you for bringing us Nick. I have some work to do.

Thank you for what is a potentially game changing set of skills, and first aid kit instruction and construction, that has un-doubtably saved quite a few lives with a great potential to save many more.

We have a large variety of first aid supplies in our home, stored in multiple locations for fast access, but have been looking to build a full trauma/FA kit that would not be used for everyday use and be available for last resort and to go situations and this video has some really great information. Thank you very much for sharing this.

I was an EMT Basic in 1982. Still have some of my supplies. Have replaced others. I have a small kit for when I head out to help a klutzy friend. Some of that stuff you'll probably never need... until you need it. Great advice. I want another EMT book because I get heat exhaustion/heat stroke and diabetic low/high symptoms backwards.

I totally agree with moleskin. It's a must have for me on daily walks. It's in my emergency bags and first aid kit.

Great info! I do want to add a suggestion. As a practicing nurse practitioner and a previous EMT, I would not recommend Neosporin due to the high risk of allergic skin reactions to the Neomycin ingredient. Bacitracin will work in place. Just my humble opinion.

Also regarding tweezers there is a slanted vs. Pin point

I add a thermometer and a snake bite bandage in my kit. In Australia our snake venom spreads via the lymphatic system not the bloodstream so we have particular bandages for them.

Nick, wonderful info. Love the "old" school. Was in SAR's in the 70's, then FF/Para for 20yrs paid. So I CAN VALIDATE you. Only suggestion, add salt/sugar packets from fast food. This lets them make Oral Hydration, in place of a line. Keep up the excellent work.
