The Bible tells us the world will pass away but Gods word will never pass away. So even during the apostasy Gods word will be available for those who wish to read it. God will always be there for those who seek him.

I always thought the "Restrainer" is the Holy Spirit within us and when we are taken in the rapture, the Restrainer is removed from the Earth. For the first time in the history, the presence of God will not be on the earth during that wicked time of Tribulation.

Paul said the restrainer was the man of lawlessness. He is restraining Christ's return until he commits the abomination in the temple, then Jesus returns and destroys him. Satan is not the one being restrained here, it is Jesus's coming. That's why Paul said "and now you know who is holding him back", Satan is not the one being held back, it is "the Lord Jesus Christ and us being gathered to him".

Actually, I have 2 position in this regards... When it comes to WHO is the RESTRAINER, I believe the 2 Olive Trees/2 Candlestand (2 Prophets of God).... but if we read 2 Thessa 2:6... it does not say WHO (pronoun) is the RESTRAINER (noun), but WHAT (pronoun) is RESTRAINING (adjective)...
Therefore, when it comes to WHAT in RESTRAINING the Man of Lawlessness to be revealed... I say, the existense of the "Islamic Dome of the Rock" and the "Al Aqsa Mosqued" from REBUILDING the 3rd Jewish Temple Building at the Temple Mount (platform).... those structures must be removed/demolished completely first, before the 3rd Temple will be REBUILT... then the AntiChrist will be revealed... which in deeds need a Political Diplomatic TREATY with the Islam/Muslim Nations before these Centuries Old Structures built in 1023 A.D. (11th Century A.D) can be demolished.... that is my 2 views regarding WHAT and WHO... which St. Paul did not clearly clarify in his Epistle to the Thessalonians... Facts and Truth, Biblically speaking... Amen.

Paul assured the Thessalonians that Christ's coming was NOT imminent. He said our gathering together unto him (the rapture) would not happen unless the apostasy occurs and the Lawless one be revealed first. Right? So how is it imminent? He does not explain in context who the restrainer is.

Take NOTE:... In Matt. 28:18... Christ said, "ALL the AUTHORITY was given unto ME by my Father (God/YHWH)... however, not ALL POWERS of God... Christ Jesus said, "MY Father is Greater than I (Christ)." (ref. John 14:28)... Father God is still the GODHEAD, GOD OF GODS, and JUDGE AMONG GODS (ref. Psalm 82 / Deut. 10:17)... "No one knows neither the Angels nor the Son/Word (Christ Jesus) the DAY and the Hour, but God (YHWH) the Father alone." (ref. Math. 24:36)...

Remember the original Scriptures were not written in the English language... so the word "TAKEN OUT" is not accurately the same as the original Greek word...

Who is the RESTRAINER (noun)?... (ref. 2 Thessa. 2:6-7)... St. Paul used the Singular Masculine Pronoun word "HE"... The Holy Spirit has no gender (gender neutral)...

The definition of RESTRAIN (verb) means to hold back, withhold, prevent, control, forbid, disallow, stop, restrict, etc...

According to the Bible... the ANGELS can hold/stop the 4 corners of the WINDS (North, South, East, West)... Archangel (Chief Angel) Mikkael with his armies battled Satan and his armies in Heaven... Archangel Mikkael also stopped Satan from acquiring Prophet Moses' Dead Body... Archangel Mikkael is also the One who will CHAIN Satan and his fallen Angels and throw them to the Bottomless pit of Hell... The word MIKKAEL in Hebrew-Aramaic means "Like God, " or "With the POWER of God."...

Again, neither the KING, QUEEN nor PRINCE does the task of RETRAINING Rebellion in the Kingdom, the Chief Soldier with the King's armies does that... the same analogy... The Holy TRINITY (Father, Son, and the H.S.) does not RESTRAIN Satan and his armies but the Chief Angel of God and God's Armies do that TASK...

The Father (God/YHWH) does the DECISION MAKING through His Son (Christ Jesus)... The Role of the Holy Spirit is to be the GUIDANCE in interpreting and following the WAY of Scriptures as well as the COMFORTER in Strengthening the Faith through difficulties, trials, temptations, persecution, and threats/death of Christians.

Facts and Truth of the Matters, Biblically and Logically speaking... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen and Amen.

Rev. 13:5 began in 641 ad when Islam defeated Alexandria the last Byzantine strong hold securing the beast powers. 42 months = 1277days of years it suffered a mortal head wound in 1918 when it laid down it's arms in defeat. God can not be the RESTRAINER, ... why?...for NO Man neither Angels nor Satan can take out, remove/kill God out from Satan's way (awful plan)... According to the Bible, after Christ ascended back to Heaven and was seated at the RIGHT HAND-SIDE of GOD'S Throne... that God, will send the Holy Spirit as their (Christians') GUIDE and COMFORTER... and not as a RESTRAINER... The Holy Spirit is part of the Holy Trinity, thus, also a GOD... GOD does not do the RESTRAINING of Satan or the Fallen Angels...

Analogy, in the Kingdom, neither the KING (God), Queen, nor the Prince/Princess does the TASK of RETRAINING Rebellion or Chaos/War, etc., the Chief Army Officer does the job for the King through His Armies... the same analogy... the Chief Angel of God (YHWH) is Archangel MIKKAEL (Michael)... who does the work/job for GOD to RESTRAIN Satan...

Archangel MIKKAEL (Michael) holds the Great CHAIN to bind (lock/hold/restain) and lose (unlock/release/unrestrain) SATAN and his Fallen Angels according to the Book of Revelation. (ref. Rev. 20)... Clearly, Archangel Mikkael is God's RESTRAINER (singular/masculine)... who temporarily HOLDS (restrains) the Wrath of Satan to the People of God...

In God's own TIME, God will order Archangel Mikkael to allow Satan to be UNRESTRAINED and the Identity of the True AntiChrist will be revealed... Amen.

The Holy Spirit is the Restrainer until such a time that The Father says HE The Holy Spirit can now allow the devil to succeed in fully ushering the antiChrist, which he has tried many times over history ie Napoleon, Hitler, Nimrod etc. Jesus Christ is not the One Personally restraining, nor can it be The Church because even after the Rapture, people, through The Holy Spirit, will still be getting saved. The Scripture in Thessalonians was written after Jesus Christ had ascended to Heaven where HE is performing High Priest intercession and HE sent The Holy Ghost to take care of The Church, His Bride, until HE returns. Christ is not The Restrainer, I beg you all.

The anti-christ is already dead. Christ raises him from the dead.

"8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is."

He was a king in the past "WAS"
He is in the PIT right now "IS NOT"
He will be raised from the dead by CHRIST when the PIT is opened at the 5th Trumpet!

Clearly, the one who restrains the Antichrist is the one who is _forced against his will_ to empower the Antichrist in the first place. Who has the motivation to prevent this situation? The dragon, "because he knoweth that he hath but a short time." Revelation 12:12.

1. Revelation 12:7-8. So long as the dragon fights to stay in heaven, he is a restrainer against anything that he does when he is cast to the earth, obviously.

2. Revelation 12:9-12. Heaven rejoices that he is taken out of the way.

3. Revelation 13:1-2. The beast is revealed.
