Great detailed video Phoebe! I was in Cambodia in Feb 17 and this brings back alot of memories especially the baby milk scam!

Always in absolute agreement about elephants!

I remember my temple pants at Angkor Wat, they split up the crotch within 10 minutes but I managed to get by!

Alot of people tell me they have to pay bribes at the Thai border, but I just paid as part of the bus ticket from Thailand, no drama!

Love Cambodia!

hi I'm Cambodian and I'm gonna try to add some tips that might help :

1. streets vendors may seem tempting if you're a tourist because it's cheap, it's delicious, and it's authentic - BUT - there's always a but - it's not usually sanitary. For example, those tiny oysters that are dried in the sun are not that safe because it's not fully cooked and dust is always everywhere in Cambodia. You can still eat aunthentic food at places like Khmer Surin. :)

2. instead of giving homeless children money, give them food like a cookie. this is because we don't know if the money is used for a good purpose or not.

3. if you're worried about your belongings but u can't strap ur bag to ur body, u can place the bag in the front of your body. It's safer that way.

4. BEWARE DARK ALLEYS. We don't know what's there, and we are not planning to.

ok I hope these tips have helped anyone planning to go to Cambodia but I'm not an expert cuz I'm just a kid ;-;

ALSO :

Try the amok, the durian purée and sticky rice, the stir fried spicy chicken with basil leaves, and smoked fish with shredded unripe mango mixed with fish sauce, chili, onion, and green tomatoes.

ok I have a test tmr I should stop

These are great tips! Having traveled in Cambodia for a month and half, I endorse your tips. However, I will say this about the kids who work the tourists, I remember travelling in oodong and I had no money left to give to the boys who accompanied me up a mountain. And the boys responded kindly saying, "its okay, but next time bring books". It warmed my heart. These kids truly do want to learn, specifically English as they think it will be a stepping stone for their futures.

Also be careful in Angkor which is the country's national treasure. Same rules apply for any conservation site. Touching the carvings, taking of stones, smoking around (yes I saw a woman smoking on the steps of the temple which was very insulting to the people around)...just try to protect the natural history of the place.

Cambodia is not the rich country, that's true but we use this slogan "poor economic, that's OK, but not poor heart". That is why Khmer people like smiling and friendly. Most foreigner love Cambodia. If you come, we will welcome you anytime anywhere.

I'm Cambodian and I recommend going to Siem Reap instead of Phnom Penh, if you like ancient things and temples, if you like malls and modern things, Phnom Penh is there for you.

Great and detailed video!

I’d like to add one more tip here, to cross the road, you can simply cross it by raising your hand 🤚 up and walk slowly... you can then pass the road successfully. I’m Cambodian, btw!

I am so impressed by the respect elderly people get in Cambodia. We in the United States could learn a good lesson from this.

As a Cambodian myself, I highly recommend sieam reap rather than Phnom Penh because the capital city literally has nothing interesting to see whatsoever (besides royal palace or tuol sleng genocide museum, you have to pay tho :/ ) . Or you could possibly visit Sihanoukvelle. It was beautiful and relaxing.
Sometimes things they sell at the market are extremely pricey for foreigners, so make sure to consider carefully before buying it.
And be very cautious of the thief
