The Treaty Of Coruscant Ended The Great Galactic War During The Old Republic - Star Wars #Shorts

Three hundred years after the end of the Jedi Civil War, the Sith Empire emerged from deep space and attacked the Republic in what became known as the Great Galactic War. Lasting twenty-eight years, countless Jedi and Sith were killed.

Expecting a much shorter conflict, the Sith Emperor grew impatient. The Sith Dark Council devised a plan and proposed a ceasefire to the Republic. Out of sheer desperation, the Republic Senate eagerly accepted the offer. Advising caution, the Jedi Council agreed this was the best course of action.

Imperial and Republic representatives met on Alderaan to formalize the ceasefire. But the Sith only used the peace agreement to distract the Republic.

Launching a full offensive against Coruscant, the Sith bombarded the planet, destroyed the Jedi Temple, captured the Senate and took the planet hostage.

On Alderaan, the Republic was forced to sign, not a ceasefire, but a full surrender. The Treaty of Coruscant declared the Sith Empire the victor and divided the galaxy in two, with the Sith claiming control of many planetary systems.

I don't think the writers of Star Wars know what a war crime or crime against peace are. The main characters are constantly guilty of false surrenders and negotiating under false pretense.

Vitiate was either dumb or didn’t care anymore cause if Malgus was to be believed they could’ve destroyed the Republic here and there forever with the Jedi close behind.
