Samsung Galaxy S24 FE hands-on: Is this really for FANS?

Samsung just launched the Galaxy S24 FE. Originally, "FE" stood for "Fan Edition." That's not the case anymore, but it still seems strange that a phone with that branding doesn't have a Snapdragon processor. Instead, the Galaxy S24 FE has an Exynos processor — and yes, that includes here in the United States. The phone is very nice and is clearly powerful, but is this really for the fans?

Dude exynos 2400e is not an upgrade on s24 or s24+ exynos variant. Do your research goddammit. 2400e is a slightly underclocked version of s24 and s24+ exynoss 2400

Is Qualcomm that special? Why not do a comparison of the 2400e with the potential no-so-current gen Qualcomm processors that may have been use? May be US customers are too hang up on brands vs function and value. Wait a minute, Apple's still going to sell a bunch of 16s... May be my case and point.

This isn’t a phone for Samsung fans despite how it’s being marketed. It’s a Samsung phone for people who are not tech heads who like Samsung phones. it’ll be sold discounted in carrier stores thus making it cheaper than the S24 standard line.

Will most likely wait till spring of next year to buy this. Looks good with decent specs. I have nothing against the Exynos chip, as long as does the job. My main interest is in the cameras and this handset has a real nice camera with actual optical zoom lens. I currently use the S23 fe, which is also good for my needs and does NOT suffer from any battery or "heat issues, as it is using the Snapdragon 8 CPU. The thinner bezels and the larger battery are welcomed upgrades. Samsung should have kept the size at 6.4 in tho. All in all, the price will determine my decision.. Thanks AA

IMO, the Exynos 2400E is going to be a good SOC. Samsung probably lowered the clock on the cores for efficiency vs the original 2400, but for raw power it is more performant than the 8 gen 2. IMO, when folks see it in action they'll be happy enough.

Samsung never recaptured the Fan Edition magic since their 2020 S20 FE 5g release! It had interesting colours, expandable memory card, Snapdragon chipset and even a samsung charger inside the box! I was really looking forward to upgrade my 2020 FE 5g (mystic blue color) to this latest S24 Fe in Australia and I was equally disappointed to see it on display at the Samsung store! It has the DULLEST colour, no expandable memory card and also no Snapdragon 😢
Not only they put up the price, but they also axed the bonus charger inside the box 😢

It's an unnecessary release anywhere especially with a 6.7 inches screen size. With a 6.4inches is still unnecessary but at least it would have sat better between the S24 and S24 Plus.

If you in 10 developing a so-called fan edition you should make it special and make it stand out among the other models in the lineup, maybe put a special case in the box, it's not difficult Samsung.
