Knowing something intellectually and theoretically is not the same as knowing how to apply it to our daily lives. We need God's help and his wisdom to do that

Lord, I know that being a single parent is not always easy, but with your help, I am confident that I can do it. I ask for your help in providing for my sons emotionally, financially and physically. Lord I struggle every month trying to provide for my boys. I’m overwhelmed. Every month is a battle. I’m barely getting by. This is so timely and has blessed me so much. I’ve been in therapy and I wasn’t prepared for how hard it would be to interact with my family especially when they’re just on different journeys. I was talking to God yesterday and asking Him to show me how to lead with love because it can be so so hard and frustrating especially because as you said sometimes we think the knowledge we have is to make our own lives easier.

Listen. I’m having to pause this because the way God is just so faithful!!! I’m not even halfway through and this has resonated with me in a way that is unbelievable. I just read Jonah last night bc God led me there, after processing a major life decision and change just last week, after having a conversation about intellectualizing things over processing. Just wow.

In the beginning when you mentioned that having this urgency to acquire more wisdom could very easily fall into actually wanting more control really caught my attention. It's a concept that never crossed my mind prior to hearing it. I feel like this opened up a new understanding for me, as far as, where my heart posture is at. Thank you for speaking on this topic.
