With proper settings, the R3 will record up to 6 hours of continuous video if connected to a power source through the USB-C connection with no overheating (although it may get warm). With battery only, it will last up to 2:15. There is no longer a 29:59 minute restriction. Yay!

A nice addition is the light up buttons 09:07 then proceeds to show complete darkness. Do they actually work?

Eye Control is a feature Canon has used in the 90s. My film Canon EOS 3 has it and it’s fun but that camera is from 98. Obviously is doesn’t really work and I’ve been hoping they would bring it back.

With such a fast sensor readout, I’d be curious how rolling shutter will be for video. Hopefully it will be well controlled. This would make a killer B cam to cinema eos gear.

Hello CVP. Would you please compare the high iso performance between R3 vs R5C? I know R5C have dual native how about R3? Will the R3 hold the noise better than R5C?

Would've enjoyed ProRes Raw, Waveforms, full size HDMI and some more transparency from Canon regarding the overheating as I've already been burnt in the past through pre-ordering the R5 and R6 :(

IF I have understood you correctly and the R3's Eye Control AF doesn't work in AI-Servo Autofocus then that is a huge pain in the Surely if one wants to change the subject to focus so quickly (using the eye control) then they'd also need AI-Servo?.... Thanks for pointing that out. I do a lot of wildlife and AI-Servo is essential for birds in flight. I have two R5s and was considering an R3 for it's Eye controlled AF but without AI-servo then I don't see it as a goer for wildlife at all, given also that it's 'only' 24mp against 45mp for the R5. Please correct me if I have misunderstood you.
