Zoo Tours: The Living Desert Zoo's African Safari | PART I

After a little more than a year we are going back to the Desert! Palm Desert California is home to the Living Desert Zoo, what might as well be the most underrated zoological park in America. For part one we explored the newer Australian Adventures, and once again I am updating you on what's new at the Living Desert Zoo. For the last few years the park has been expanding on their already expansive African Safari, a 20 acre realm that boasts over 30 species that thrive in the harsh desert. To keep you interested in everything, this episode will be split into two parts.

Part one will cover the new Rhino Savanna, a multi acre flex habitat, that actually mixes Black Rhinos with EIGHT other species! On certain days the rhinos can be separated but the smaller creatures are always free to roam in between two exhibits and access parts of the enclosure that the rhinos cannot. Not only that, but depending on where they are, these animals can walk ABOVE mongooses, mole-rats, and even you. Enjoy.

I was lucky to see Jaali as a calf, since he grew up about a half hour from me at Potter Park Zoo. I'm glad to see he went to such an amazing exhibit!

Anybody who lives in Palm Springs and want new Dreamworks animal led films with animals they see at the Living Desert Zoo, go apply for Dreamworks Animation Studio and convince them to make a subsidiary that will only produce animal led films and will include previous films like Antz, Chicken Run, Spirit films, Shark Tale, Madagascar franchise films, Over the Hedge, Flushed Away, Bee Movie, Kung Fu Panda films, Turbo and Bad Guys. Also, one of the films that should happen in the future for example is a film taking place in East Africa and will feature a female giraffe character.
