The cool thing about Raids in Twitch is that you can raid ANYONE
Having this "allow" thing stops streamers, or Big streamers (Like Ludwig, who has talked about wanting to Redirect Viewers to random small streamers) of using this feature
Please change this, or make a "Allow anyone to live redirect"

You guys make this so difficult with redirects. That is the beauty of Twitch, you just raid people and it feels good to raid streamers with a small following with 2 viewers. With Twitch you don't have to go through steps of making sure the person being raided allows access and I allow access in return. Also the fact I have to inform the YouTube live stream that hey need to "turn auto play back on" is annoying. YouTube almost got this right.

Why Youtube can’t put an option where anybody can have redirects if he wants? :/

Live Redirects should be a great tool for small youtubers to grow their audience. However gate keeping it behind 1000 subscribers seems to work against this. This seems to be a 'win more' feature.

a feature like the channel points on twitch would be so GREAT!

I honestly don't understand why I'd have to "allow" a much larger channel than mine the ability to "raid" my channel. Of course I'd want them to! And since they don't know me personally, why would they go out of their way to find me when I'm live. Then ask for permission to add me. And then me to accept them?
This is the right idea but the execution makes this almost pointless. You're better off, if YouTube feels the need to have Creators "allow" other channels to raid them, to simply click a button on their Studio page to "Allow All"
Otherwise I just can't see this feature being helpful to anyone.

One of the best parts of Twitch was growing small communities by randomly raiding eachother. Honestly this is a step in the right direction but the process seems pretty convoluted

After reading several comments about how this works with only 1k subscribers or more, I can see why some smaller creators are concerned about it. I would like to contribute another perspective though. YouTube has very strict guidelines in many areas, which is quite different from Twitch who seems to be lax on any or all of their policies. With this being said, I think a main reason why 1k subs is needed to be "live redirected" is to upkeep integrity between already "established" creators on the platform. Again, it is frustrating as I am also someone looking at using YT in the future, but it is reasonable for a company to make sure those that have the ability to this type of thing is worth trusting. And who knows, maybe as they progress forward into the live streaming realm of things they'll come to a new policy of needing a new minimum or no minimum at all. I think this is a step in the right direction with no step back, it makes sense and I'm glad to see YT applying something they've been talking about for a bit.

This is 2 steps in the right direction, but one step backwards. The thing about Twitch raids is that big streamers can raid smaller streamers regardless if they follow them or even have a large following. Gatekeeping it to over 1K subs and permissions is really counterintuitive to the growth of smaller creators. With Twitch seriously fumbling the ball countless of times recently, this is now the time to start focusing on helping improve live streaming on this platform!! Seriously, there is SOO much potential here.

When they allow you to redirect to one of your own videos (not a premiere or live stream) that will be a game changer.

This is honestly so cumbersome…you need to have 1000 subscribers so this already alienates smaller creators from coming over to YouTube Gaming and Live streaming. The beauty of twitch is you could be a one viewer Andy, and then someone raid you with 100 viewers. In the smash community and other communities this happens daily on twitch.

Then the fact you have to go through 6 different steps to redirect someone to a live stream or a new video is just, unneeded. You type “/raid [add channel]” on the other services and then you’re done. Why does YouTube insist on making their live streaming so complicated for newbies when all it takes elsewhere is to hit “start streaming” 🤦🏾‍♂️

So basically "grow a channel then network to make use of this feature". I wonder how this will turn out because I really love streaming/watching streams on this platform.

great functionality, it should be for everyone and not with limits, it helps a lot to small channels

This is a big step in the right direction, but the implementation seems very limiting and hard to manage.
