Beating Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo Nordschleife Record Without Shifting!

To show you how carefully (i.e. slowly) Timo Bernhard drove the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo around the Green Hell, I did a single-gear test with the F2004 in Assetto Corsa.

I drove the entire lap in 5th gear only (no shifting). I used my standard car setup (no modifications). The top speed (as you can see at RSR) was just 287 km/h (178 mph), while the Evo reached 369 km/h (229 mph).

Despite the lower top speed, acceleration, and engine braking, I set a time of 5:13.866 while the Evo only managed 5:19.546.

The best part is that already my first completed lap was faster than Timo's and the second completed lap is in this video... :-)

If pushed hard, the Evo would definitely beat 5 minutes... Timo was just cruising... :-)))

BTW: In first gear only (my normal setup), I did 7:44 with the F2004. That is faster than the vast majority of road cars can do using all gears… :-)
