This has been one of the best playoff races we have experienced in the league with all four matchups realistically going either way. New and returning faces this year with some matchups primed for an upset. Let's breakdown and analyze each series and explain why these teams will advance past this round. Montreal has a lot more playoff exprience than people seem to think. The following players have been to the 3rd round or further at least once:

The Habs just dont have the defense to win a series against a team with the scoreing depth of the Caps, it could be a competitive series but if Thompson and Protas are healthy i wouldn't be surprised if it was Caps in 4 or 5

Ever sense the caps clinched a playoff spot we have just been not trying and have nothing to play for. If we are fully healthy with protas and Thomas. We are winning. The caps are such a better team

Great, someone else that’s taking the Habs over the Caps. I’m not even a Habs fan, the Caps just give me serious fraud vibes. Like 2019 Tampa vibes. There’s gonna be a lot of broken brackets after round 1 this year

Tampa is the best team in the east? Based on what? Toronto WON THE DIVISION! Toronto beat the sh*t out of Tampa going 4 and 0 in their head to head games, and the Leafs beat them the last time in the playoffs. A whole lot of disrespect going out at the Leafs even though they have shown for 2 years now that they own Tampa just like Florida owns the Leafs and Tampa owns Florida.

Two things about the leafs series.
1.) I think Woll should start he’s proven more in playoffs than Stolartz and I think he’s their future.
2.) Ullmark has been pretty awful in the playoffs with much better Bruins teams. And unless he cleanses those demons I think Toronto takes em in 6

I just don’t think Montreal has the goaltending. I think they’re the better team over all, but I don’t think they’ll beat the Caps. Every young team goes through their growing pains. Who knows though, maybe one of their goalies gets real hot for the series. Not like that’s never happened before.

I think we'll get destroyed by the Caps.

There is a reason it's the youngest team in NHL history to get qualified, a reason why it's so rare. These kids are exhausted. Many never played anywhere close to an 82 games season, yet alone in the NHL Look at their legs and skating in their past 10 or so games.

And it's normal, it's stuff they will learn; hell, some guys in that team are still physically growing up and getting used to their body.

Is it impossible? Of course not! It's hockey, anything can happen (best freaking sport man).
Was it a very spicy hot take on your part? Sure, but I love it all the same :)

I just hope they can steal at least one game on home ice, for the fans. Let them learn the hard way what it takes to win in the playoffs, let them realize that winning a first round mean nothing (it's why I have Ottawa winning against the Leafs, obviously).
I'd like to see the Caps win another cup if they beat us. Not just for Ovi, but their whole organization that helped Ovi do the impossible.

For fun, the devils allow less goals and crush the canes in pp/pk collectively. Depth scoring will determine this series, especially at 5v5. But the wagon is shiny lol

Worst takes I’ve ever seen. The Capitals are built for the playoffs. I called a gentleman’s sweep, and I was right. The only one you got right was the Leafs, but it didn’t go to Game 7. Also, as a Bruins fan — Ullmark is not a playoff goalie. He has proven that yet again. And Brady Tkachuk is not elite. He’s third tier. Guy has 55 points this season and has been a minus player his whole career. There’s too much hype around him. And he’s not Captain material. Either the Panthers or the Capitals are going to the Finals. Panthers are going to beat the piss out of the Leafs. But Matthew Tkachuk will get injured, because he’s made of glass. If the Capital’s stay healthy they’re gonna beat the shit out of the Panthers.
