One way I remembered the Electromagnetic Spectrum by order was this funny anagram my physics teacher told me:

Rude (Radio)
Men (Micro)
In (Infrared)
Vans/Vehicles (Visible
Use (Ultraviolet)
X-Ray (X-ray, duh :p)
Goggles (Gamma)

Hope it helps anyone out there.

A good way of remembering the Em spectrum is by learning this sentence. " Grandma's X-box Uses Volts In My Room".
Just remember that Radio Waves come first. Hope this helps :)

This is really good for revising what I learnt in GCSE now I am doing physics A Level

correct me if I'm wrong: The amount of energy waves posses is fully determined by their frequency and their amplitude. The x-axis is time which means waves with a certain frequency have a certain wavelength, expressed in time.

So the Electromagnetic spectrum is the different wavelengths, frequency (energy), what they are used for and cause?

can you make a ultraviolet fiberoptic cable ? and would data transfer be faster because of shorter wave lenght

My Science Teacher said this Electromagnetic System
Radio
Microwave
Infrared

How does ionising radiation damage biological tissue and how does it make other things radioactive/contaminated?

what about audible waves? lowest energy 10 to the 1st power, all the way to the left? or are these simple mechanical waves, not electromagnetic

How can a wavelength be longer/bigger than the medium/thing it exists in?

Remember that next time your herded through the body scanners at the airport with zero protection.

I thought that 'electricity' (whatever that is) was an electromagnetic wave too. Why is it not shown on the spectrum?
