Gaules is much more than just an ex cs player/coach. He's a living example of resilience and a Brazilian treasure.
Here goes an attempt to sum up his history (TRIGGER WARNING): The dude was supposed to become a football/soccer player, but an early injury took this opportunity away, he then moved to play cs, as it gave him the same competitive feeling as football. As a kid, he was sexually abused by his mother, but memories of this abuse were forgotten till later in his life (as our brain finds defensive mechanisms). The first time he achieved success was as a cs player and although he was getting decent payment at that time, his father's paper company was not doing well, which led to him inheriting a millionary debt - in Brazilian currency - (don't know the real value but should be something between 100k and 200k dollars), that took him 10+ years to pay and brought him back to square 1. The second time he achieved success was during the years he spent as a coach and founded his company, which was focused on developing cs scenery in Brazil. And then came the second fall, he discovered his girlfriend at the time was having an affair with his business partner, and even with the break up he spent another 1-2 years working in this company and ultimately decided to sell his share and part ways. Now in a new relationship, he decided to start therapy, as he was not feeling well. However, it backfired, as the previous memory of his abuse came back and with that also came the depression. His girlfriend got tired of dealing with him and his disease and asked him to move out, stating that all the money he got from selling his company was already used in his treatment (He also lost part of the money investing in other companies). Now alone, he was able to rent a small room but had no money to pay for rent and his medication (he didn't even have a mattress to sleep on). Dude was eating 1 meal a day. Sadly, he took the final decision to attempt sui****, and had his life saved by his ex who decided to see how he was doing that day. From this day on his life took a turn, he took all he had, which was basically his old computer, made an internet plan and started streaming. In the beginning, part of the Brazilian cs community made fun of him, saying he was begging for money from strangers. He was a walking skeleton talking to a camera. But this time he finally achieved real success, and it was by helping others. He later became the most successful Brazilian streamer and founded a "tribe" (as he calls it) with his followers, also trying to provide help for them, paying for scholarships and other stuff (He donates 50% of everything he receives), as he says "The tribe helps the tribe". When he was finally able to move out from that small room, he first bought a house for the homeless man that lived near him and was one of the few friends he had during his depression (not the only one), then he bought a house for himself. I know I get passionate about telling this history, it has helped me through some rough times and will help many more. I just think he deserves more recognition outside Brazil.
He told his full history in a Brazilian podcast called "inteligência" It is a 5 hour interview, sadly, only available in Portuguese.

I dont think you have put enough emphasis on how important gaules and fallen is to brazilian cs history. Those two are responsible for the existence of top lvl brazilian players at world lvl. They invested time, money and made the brazilian cs scene the most engaged and watched region in cs by far. Breaking many records and bringing the highest number of attendees to a match. Gaules have done for cs what no one else in the world was able to do, but unfortunately we have a european/NA centric media that don’t cover the crazy stories “smaller” regions had.

I have never watched a stream of him, but I always wondered whenever I go to Counter Strike section in Twitch why always he has few thousands of viewers without being in pro scene. Never knew his past.

The only thing I don't like about this channel is the shortcuts you take to the sake of the narrative. It's quite obvious when you watch your "Story of X player" that blew the channel up.

Gaules wasn't a 1.6 legend, he was a slightly above average pro at best. He never won a single t1 tournament and wasn't in the actual good MIBR team.
