These boots look good quality and what a beautiful place to take them out in.

I used to own the HAIX high liability goretex and polished leather version of these which never failed me even in the wettest conditions. I did find them a bit on the chunky side which made me unable to really feel the ground under me. I do not carry heavy loads on my back but I can imagine these boots would be good for that purpose too.

I did try the haix black eagle athletic goretex boot (like a trainer boot really) at great expense and they leaked within months as did the replacement pair.

These ones you have look like a different quality build altogether.

Seasons greetings my friend I hope your well... Another fantastic review... I really like Haix boots.... I have the cold wet weather haix boots which are absolutely stunning in the British winter... I must resist trying to look for the desert version lol... I have the iturri boots like yours which I think lol really smart... I use them in the summer for woods walks etc etc.... Stunning location... I don't cope well in the heat.... Have a good Christmas and stay safe....

Just an FYI, be VERY, VERY CAREFUL buying "New Old Stock" Haix boots. I had a pair of High Liability boots years ago when I was stationed in Germany and I loved them. Several weeks ago I found a brand new pair in my size for sale on EBAY. The boots were obviously brand new, manufactured 11/2013, and still had the name of the officer who requisitioned them on the box. I wore them for twice, for less than two hours total, and when I went to take them off the heel completely separated from the right shoe. I got to looking at the left shoe and noticed the sole was starting to separate. Now I am trying to decide whether I want to spend $120-150 (USD) to send this new pair of boots off to be resoled!

It looks like there are three different downtown areas here. Or are there three different cities crammed together. Does the extreme heat cause the adhesion to delaminate on these boots?

Hi, thanks for the review. I have one question: How are they with regards to ankle support? In stony trails, uneven terrain, etc. Thank you
