According to Romans 4:25 the resurrection was more than that: “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” The word we translated as ‘justification’ is a legal term that means *_ACQUITTAL_* .

In other words the Father raised him so that we would _know_ he accepted the payment of our sin debt, and has declared those who by faith are in Christ . . . “Not Guilty!”

So beyond the fact that no one should even think about ‘re-offering Christ’ … the fact is those who believe they are doing so, are denying that the Father has *_already_* accepted the payment and acquitted us.

Rev 13:8 says Christ slain from the foundation of them world. The verb slain is in passive perfect tense.

Wouldn't it have been neat then if the ascension actually occurred on the Day of Atonement? Yom Kappur is a fall feast but Passover is a spring feast.

Protestants use 1John1:7 to debunk Purgatory. But this passage is made clear by reading it with Hebrews 9;26. The fact that Jesus' Blood cleanses us from all sin DOESN'T mean that we are rendered incapable of ever sinning. Frankly, it's a stupid way of reading 1Jn1:7.
