A WW2 PANTHER WITH NIGHT VISION - Ep.2 - Panther II in War Thunder

Germany's Rarest Tanks in War Thunder are usually exclusive vehicles that are Premium, Event Vehicles, Tanks that were removed due to historical inaccuracies, Tanks that were removed for balance reasons or Tanks that are just so expensive no one in their right mind should buy one!

So, in this series... I'm going to play EVERY single one of them. From the super heavy Maus and E-100 to the double barrel SPAA Flakpanzer 341.

For the second episode we're going to be playing the Panther II. The Panther 2 in War Thunder was removed due to historical inaccuracies. As in, this vehicle did not exist at all in this configuration. It's a real Panther II hull that's been fitted with a completely fictional turret that houses the same 88mm cannon that the Tiger II has.

The Panther II is actually a great vehicle and it's pretty disappointing that it's completely inaccessible to the newer generation of players.

Let's see how the old top tier stacks up against the new kids on the block! :)

Their removal was perhaps the saddest day and the biggest betrayal in all of War Thunder. Mein Herz blutet. (My heart bleeds.)

At the br the panther2 is at it's not just unlikely to get a night battle, it's flat out impossible since they restricted night battles to 10+ br. That effectively makes every nvd research on tanks below 9.3 useless since by that point you're already getting thermals. IMO the change to making night battles optional was a good thing, restricting it to such a high br, was not.

the thing about the Panther II is that the NVG for the driver gets in the way, you usually have to angle your tank and expose your side to get a bit of extra depression
other than that the Panther II is an all around jack of trades, It's really easy for me to keep up with even bulldogs which makes early game positioning real fun, I'm glad I got it when I did

the panther 2, tiger 2 105 is the most fun lineup in the entire game. It's the last lineup with really great brawling armored heavy tanks and a strong medium tank
