Watching someone eat spoonfuls of Mayo is tough

Just a heads up:

Vegan here. I used to love Just Mayo; it tasted the closest to real mayo for sure.
However, they’ve recently changed their formula and now it’s not nearly as good anymore.
Hellman’s also changed their vegan formula, and now it tastes more like real mayo.

Just wanted to give a 2020 update.

Really clever including real mayonnaise in the taste test! Obviously that wouldn't fly with vegan taste-testers, but well done!

I bought just mayo without realizing it was vegan mayonnaise and didn't notice until the jar was almost gone.

As a scientist, I just wanted to say how impressed I was when you included real Mayo in the blind tasting. Well designed. Always a relief when real mayo comes out on top of the tastes like real mayo test. I now want to try the Just Mayo. Thanks for doing this.

One question based on the 7-11 comment, is there a food safety advantage to vegan mayo's lack of eggs?

You know you love ATK when you watch the vegan mayo video.

"Just mayo" in my local walmart is less than 4$ for a 32 oz jar!🤷🏽‍♀️
..but, I prefer the "Vegannaise" brand with the blue lid.💯...a little pricey, but so worth it!👍🏾..it's very good!

I love how the chefs in the background are struggling not to laugh. Even the camera crew did at 1:00

Awe! You guys should have done Vegenaise by Follow Your Heart. Its really great and they have different flavors. I prefer the grapeseed oil one.

Why wasn't Vegenaise part of the taste test? In my opinion, it beats all of the ones Bridget tested, inclusing the real mayo! If you are more of a fan of Miracle Whip than of regular mayo, then I think you're going to prefer the Vegenaise. I has a subtle tangy taste that I love.

Follow Your Heart, Original Vegenaise, try it it taste like the real thing. 👍👍 And yes it’s dairy free & egg free.

My very favorite is Fabanaise made with the cooking water from chickpeas. Made by Sir Kensington.

Not being a vegan I was leery of the idea. My son asked me to try it as their family really liked it. So, I did. Very pleasantly surprised.

Good timing -- the hubby's favorite (Trader Joe's Organuc Vegan Spread) isn't available (production issues), so he needed an alternate.

Thanks!

I LOVED that they also had the real Mayo there, I'd like to see them do more of this with other vegan and vegetarian blind tests.

Is that really $60/2 jars on Amazon? That’s $1/ounce! Hmm. I think I’ll go back to making my own. You’re tastings are usually spot on. I was excited to try your favorite, but . . . I know you said $5.99, so hoping it’s a typo.

Bridget's commentary was hilarious! Also the winner was my favorite vegan mayo.

I absolutely LOVE Just Mayo! I actually prefer it to the regular mayonnaise.

One that they didn't include is vegenaise. It is sold by Follow Your Heart here in the Los Angeles area, and I am not sure if it is available in stores nationwide. It uses soy protein. You will not notice the difference in most uses, but if you just eat it with a spoon (who does that?), you probably will. I have not tried Just Mayo, but I will look for it next time I am in the market.
